Insecurity in the Soul

Insecurity plagues the nation of America. It is how we are sold stuff; it is the number one method for marketing. Marketers constantly thinking, how and what can I make that will make them feel good about themselves. We see people on the TV screens on the stage wearing and acting a certain way and then we immediately think we NEED to be like them. We NEED what they have so we will get noticed. That’s all a lie and people need to know it to be free. Attention is only healthy when it isn’t needed to know who you are.
Yesterday I found myself feeling empty and lonely, yet surrounded by tons of people. I wanted to show everybody who I am and the love and passion I carry inside of me, and the man God is making me of me. But fear kept it locked behind closed doors. Out of this insecurity, I instead wanted to show off my looks, my talents, the things I had, the people I knew, etc. When I got home I went before God and cried out, “Why did I feel so empty?” He reminded me that my security and identity can only come from Him; but he also reminded me of the many conversations I've had with youth and peers, and how these feelings reflect those of many in this generation. We/they NEED to know God's love and the individually, unique, and purposeful people He has made them to be.
God is truly the only one that can make us feel okay. I started to remember how I was in high school and it made me cry- because of how lost I was. I now desire to live as a man led by the Spirit, because then I am living as a son of God (Rom 8:14-15). The Spirit of God is constantly reminding me of who I am and He will continue to until the day Jesus returns. The important thing isn’t investing energy being insecure in our relationship with God, or concerned about what He thinks of us, but rather, learning to know Him and listen to Him. If we would just listen and seek Him, we would begin to know and believe the incredibly powerful things He says about us and we would know… all we truly need is Him.

The Exchange Market of Love

Jesus’ love is going deeper and deeper. God’s people are getting real with themselves, God and one another. The God of the universe is preparing His people. He is healing the hearts of man and restoring their souls, through the LOVE of God! He is healing the areas that we have been rejected, hurt, angry, sinful, etc. He understands His body can’t operate as one when we are wounded. Jesus knows that for us to have relationships like He has with His father we need healed and restored hearts. If we are crying out for love through our wounds, we will live unsatisfied bitter and disconnected. But if we live with whole and satisfied hearts, we will abound in joy, peace, and most of love!
Our needs are going to start being met through healthy and whole relationships, through which we can share love and not steal it or feel compelled to give it. The exchange market of love is going to be open in the church again!! With Christians relying and depending on God for their identity and celebrating it and sharing it with others, because they love themselves!!
I am tired of comparing myself to people around me to find out my self worth. I have done it for too long, all I am doing is crying out on the inside to feel good about who I am.  God has so much life to give me, he sees me and loves me. The more I believe it, the more I live it. The more I live it, the freer I become to be me. And me is an incredible individual set apart by the Living God to love Him and love others. I have much to give others and much to receive :)
